It takes just one look at a photo of Blausee Lake, and you know you have to visit. Well, that’s what happened to us. We’ll be the first to admit that our visit to Blausee Nature Park is far from our usual long-winded hikes, but its stunning scenery has landed it a spot on our blog.
Blausee Nature Park is a one-hour drive south from Interlaken. Apart from the Blausee Lake, there is 20 hectares of park with several trails, an organic trout farm, and alpacas too. The area is full of beautiful picnic spots, and there are even fireplaces with firewood where you can cook your lunch on site.
For us, it was all about the trails and the lake. The trails are very short and generally flat, and you could probably complete all of the trails in 30 minutes. We loved visiting the alpacas meandering in the spring flowers, and the best part was that we were alone as everyone else was too distracted by the lake.
Overall we spent 3 hours at Blausee Nature Park, although if you’re not fussed about photography you could easily enjoy the park in 2 hours. For photography buffs, you should take a polarising filter if you have one as this will help to decrease the reflections on the lake. We suggest arriving early (before 11am) to avoid the tour buses. Drones are not allowed.
Other things to note before you go:
- Parking costs 3 CHF for 4 hours and the carpark is at the entrance to the park
- Entrance fee is 8 CHF for adults
- A free glass-bottom boat ride is included in the cost of the ticket
